Instructions
Once your booking has been successfully confirmed, you will receive an email with all relevant details about your scheduled session, including its exact timing, venue location, and useful instructions to help you prepare for your visit. If, after checking, you still have not received any communication from us, please reach out to our team promptly at bookings@tbcm.be so that we can ensure your booking is properly registered and resend your confirmation details.
Code of conduct
By attending our workshops, you agree to behave respectfully and safely in line with our code of conduct. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behaviour, including but not limited to:
- - Unwanted physical contact with staff or guests
- - Public disturbance or disorderly conduct
- - Vandalism or damage to property
- - Indecent exposure
- - Disregard for safety instructions
Any intoxicated or disruptive guest may be refused entry or asked to leave without refund. If a group fails to respect these rules, the workshop will be stopped immediately without compensation.
Punctuality
Each workshop starts exactly five minutes after the official start time indicated on your booking confirmation. To maintain the quality of the experience and ensure that all guests receive the full introduction and safety briefing, late arrivals will not be permitted to join once the workshop has started. Arriving late disrupts the group and compromises both the flow of the session and hygiene protocols, so please plan your journey carefully to arrive on time.
We kindly invite you to arrive at least ten minutes early, so you can settle in, enjoy the atmosphere of our atelier, and be ready to begin this unique chocolate-making experience without stress.
Workshop content
From time to time, we may need to make minor adjustments to the details of a workshop; for example, slight changes in timing, duration, or the chocolate maker leading the session. These occasional modifications are purely operational and do not alter the overall quality or content of the experience you have booked. Such adjustments therefore do not entitle participants to any refund, credit, or compensation, provided that the workshop proceeds as planned in essence and spirit.
Regarding participation of children, please note that children aged 6 to 12 must be accompanied by at least one paying adult during the entire workshop. This rule ensures safety and proper guidance throughout the activity.
For safety and insurance reasons, children under 6 years old cannot be admitted under any circumstances.
Our team may request age verification upon arrival, and entry may be refused without refund if the declared age does not comply with these conditions.
Venue
Our workshops take place in our dedicated chocolate-making space at Rue de l’Escalier 20, 1000 Brussels, just a few steps from the Grand Place and our boutique area.
Please note that all participants must first check in at our booking desk, located at Place de la Justice 5, 1000 Brussels, where you’ll be welcomed by our staff before being escorted to the workshop venue.
In exceptional cases, we may need to relocate the workshop to an alternative nearby venue for operational reasons. Should such a change occur, we will notify you as early as possible by email or phone, providing all updated logistical details. We always aim to maintain the same quality of experience, and refunds are only available if the change of venue causes a substantial inconvenience or prevents you from attending.
We ask every participant to handle the premises, tools, and chocolate-making equipment with respect. You are responsible for any damage caused and are expected to comply with all hygiene, safety, and housekeeping guidelines provided by our team.
If you have any disability, medical condition, or dietary restriction, please communicate it clearly when booking your session. This will help us evaluate the best way to assist you and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Although we do our utmost to accommodate all requests, certain constraints, particularly food safety regulations, may limit the adjustments we can make.
Cancellations and refunds
All bookings made with The Belgian Chocolate Makers are final, non-modifiable and non-refundable.
Once payment has been received and confirmation issued, no cancellation, refund, credit, or date change will be possible under any circumstances including illness, travel disruption, visa issues, weather conditions, or other personal reasons.
By proceeding with your booking, you acknowledge and accept these strict conditions of sale.
That said, we are committed to providing a reliable and high-quality experience for all participants. In rare cases, we may be forced to cancel or reschedule an event due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, for example:
- Insufficient bookings preventing the workshop from running,
- Instructor or staff unavailability,
- Venue or technical issues, or
- Force majeure events such as strikes, accidents, pandemics, or natural disasters.
In such exceptional cases, you will be personally notified as soon as possible by email or telephone. You will then have the option to choose one of the following solutions:
- A full refund of the booking amount,
- A credit note of equal value valid for a future workshop, or
- A reschedule to another available date of your choice.
Refunds, when applicable, will normally be processed through the same payment method used for your booking, unless otherwise agreed with our team.
Please note that refunds are only issued when the cancellation originates from The Belgian Chocolate Makers SRL and not from the participant.
This policy ensures that every confirmed seat is honoured and allows our chocolate makers to prepare ingredients, materials, and schedules responsibly; guaranteeing a smooth experience for all guests.
Intellectual property
All materials, recipes, techniques, images, course notes, and any documentation shared or demonstrated during our workshops are and shall remain the exclusive property of The Belgian Chocolate Makers SRL. They are provided solely for your personal, educational, and non-commercial use as part of your participation in our workshop.
You are welcome to reproduce the techniques you have learned at home for your own enjoyment, but it is strictly prohibited to reproduce, distribute, publish, teach, sell, or otherwise exploit any part of our content, recipes, or methods for commercial purposes without prior written consent from The Belgian Chocolate Makers SRL.
All intellectual property rights, including copyrights, trademarks, photographs, and visual or written materials displayed during the workshop or on our premises, are fully protected under Belgian and international law. By attending the workshop, you agree not to record, film, or photograph any instructional portion of the class for publication or commercial reuse without express permission. Please note that our name and logo are registered in Benelux under number 1524963.
We encourage creativity and sharing your chocolate creations with friends and family but please respect the integrity of our craft and the intellectual work of our chocolate makers.
Images
During our workshops, photographs and short video clips may be taken by our staff or representatives for marketing, communication, and archival purposes. These images help us share the spirit of our workshops, showcase the craftsmanship of our chocolate makers, and illustrate the experiences enjoyed by our guests across our official channels, including our website, social media, newsletters, and printed materials.
By attending a workshop, you grant The Belgian Chocolate Makers SRL full consent to use, reproduce, and publish these images or recordings, in which you may appear, without any financial compensation or time limitation. This consent includes the right to edit, crop, or adapt such materials for marketing and promotional use, in compliance with privacy and data protection laws.
If you prefer not to appear in any photographs or recordings, please notify one of our staff members before the session begins, and we will take care to respect your request. You may also contact us after the event if you wish to have a specific image removed from our channels, and we will do our best to accommodate your request within a reasonable timeframe.
We take your privacy seriously and ensure that all content is used responsibly and exclusively to highlight the authentic, joyful atmosphere of our chocolate-making experiences.
Liability
All participants are solely responsible for the care and supervision of their personal belongings throughout the duration of the workshop. We recommend keeping valuables such as phones, wallets, or jewellery safely stored and within your sight at all times.
The Belgian Chocolate Makers SRL cannot accept any liability for the loss, theft, or damage of personal property occurring on our premises or at any external venue, unless such loss or damage is demonstrably the result of our negligence or a direct fault on our part.
In the rare event that damage or loss is proven to have been caused by our negligence, our total liability shall be strictly limited to the amount covered by our insurance policy at the time of the incident. Under no circumstances shall our liability exceed that coverage.
We shall not be held responsible for any indirect, consequential, or business-related losses, including but not limited to loss of profit, revenue, opportunity, contracts, or goodwill, arising from participation in any of our workshops or related activities.
Nothing in these terms of booking shall exclude or limit our liability in cases of personal injury or death resulting directly from our negligence, nor shall it affect any rights that cannot be lawfully excluded under Belgian law.
We take every reasonable precaution to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and professional environment for all our guests, and we expect each participant to act responsibly and respectfully throughout the experience.
Force majeure
We shall not be held responsible or liable for any delay, modification, or cancellation of our workshops or events arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Such circumstances, commonly referred to as force majeure, may include, but are not limited to, the following situations:
- Strikes, lockouts, or industrial action
- Civil unrest, riots, acts of terrorism, or war
- Fire, explosion, accident, storm, flood, earthquake, or other natural disasters
- Major power outages, breakdown of machinery, or failure of transport or communication networks
- Epidemics, pandemics, or public health emergencies
- Government orders, travel restrictions, or new regulatory measures that prevent us from operating normally
In the event of such occurrences, our contractual obligations will be automatically suspended for the duration of the disruption. During this time, we will make every reasonable effort to minimise the impact of the situation and to resume normal operations as quickly as possible once the conditions allow.
If a workshop must be cancelled or postponed due to a force majeure event, participants will be informed as soon as reasonably practicable, and we will strive to offer an alternative date or credit note when circumstances permit. However, as these situations are beyond our control, refunds are not guaranteed and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the applicable law and our insurance coverage.
The Belgian Chocolate Makers SRL will always act in good faith and with transparency toward its guests, while prioritising the safety and well-being of participants and staff in any such exceptional circumstance.
